innovative plectrums made in Germany

are you ready to testify?

Because there is no product in the world that has been perfected for all eternity and because we as guitarists have been missing one thing for a long time, we sat down and experimented until the plectrum became the PLK.

The PLK finds it ideal position between the fingers automatically. Tapered slats provide a surface with a hollow for the thumb and the engraved PLK lettering offer additional grip for the fingertip.

three brand new plectrum features

As specified above, the thumb base is where your thumb rests. At this point you have a rock’n’roll solid 2mm sheet of plastic to feel and the roughened surface of the ribs provides extra grip.

While the PLKs are available in three gauges – 0.60, 0.75 and 0.90 – all PLKs feel equally thick. And in fact they are all the same thickness.

How soft or hard the strings are struck is decided elsewhere on the PLK. The PLK’s flex-zone is located between the thumb-base and the string-contact-area, and this is where the music is playing, because this is the only place where the PLK has the specified thickness.

and a fourth for the perfect tone

The PLK slopes gently at the edges. The PLK is bevelled over the entire edge. This has a noticeable effect on playing and sound. The PLK is not only easier and faster to play, the sound also offers significantly more overtones. Try it out!

research & development

It took some time from the first plectrum sketches to the PLK as it is now.

The first designs were created by hand or by using simple graphics programmes. However, the moulds for series production were then produced using modern design programs. Finally, we want to achieve precision that meets industry standards. Consistent quality for high quantities.

three colours for all needs

To serve te requirements of both acoustic and electric guitarists, the PLK Plectrum will initially be available in three gauges.
Sorted according to milestones in rock history, there should be the right PLK for every preference. Colour codes make the vintages instantly recognisable.

orange 0.60 - soft

inspired by the folk rock of the 60s like Buffalo Springfield, the Byrds, Bob Dylan… The soft PLK is aimed – not only – at acoustic guitarists. With a thickness of .60 mm, it provides a light, sparkling sound.

purple 0.75 - hard

Somewhere between the proto punk of the Stooges and MC5, Glam Rock and the British Punk Explosion, the .75 / hard PLK fits like a glove between the fingers. A good all-round guitar pick solution for all needs.

well, yes... 0.90 - harder

The 90s. The guitar reclaims the charts with Grunge and Britpop. The most powerful PLK elicits a hard and crisp sound from every electric guitar and comes in the colour of Kurt Cobain’s favourite cardigan.

material

Plectrums are made of plastic, so are the PLKs. We use a very abrasion resistant nylon blend to ensure the durability of our picks. In the future we will experiment with other plastics to make our PLKs even harder or softer. We use recycled material to produce as environmentally friendly as possible in plastic.
