Because there is no product in the world that has been perfected for all eternity and because we as guitarists have been missing some things for a long time, we sat down and experimented until the plectrum became the PLK.
The PLK pick ushers in a new era of playing comfort and control. Developed by guitarists for guitarists, the PLK combines innovative design with functional sophistication – for a playing experience that will thrill you.
The PLK has a familiar shape, but offers some features that are game changing. You will realise it as soon as you get a PLK between your fingers. Much more feel and haptic for just a bit more €. The PLK offers a completely new playing experience on your guitar.
The „thumb-base“, the PLKs perfect bed for your thumb to rest. Tapered slats with a slightly roughened surface offer an ergonomic recess for the thumb.
And the engraved PLK lettering on the back provides additional support for the index finger.
PLKs are available in three gauges – 0.60, 0.75 and 0.90 mm – yet all PLKs feel equally thick because the „flex-zone“ is where the music plays. Only here the PLK has the specified strength.
The „string-contact-area“ is one millimetre thick on all PLKs. This ensures an always solid attack in all gauges, even when played softly.
The PLK is bevelled on both sides over the entire edge. This we call „edge-slope“ and it is best recognised on the string-contact-area where it comes into play.
The edge-slope has a noticeable effect on playing and sound.
This fine bevelling not only improves the playing flow, making it easier and faster to play, it also has a positive effect on the tone.
The touch becomes smoother, the sound clearer, more transparent and richer in overtones. A real plus for anyone who pays attention to subtle nuances and always worth a listen. From soft attacks to the perfect balance between flexibility and precision to a direct, powerful tone with strong control, three PLKs for every demand.
It took some time from the first plectrum sketches to the PLK as it is now.
The first designs were created by hand or by using simple graphics programmes. However, the moulds for series production were then produced using modern design programs. Finally, we want to achieve precision that meets industry standards. Consistent quality for high quantities.
PLK-picks are made in Solingen, Germany, well known for manufactures of all kinds. We are very experienced in the production of plastic parts using injection moulding. With PLK-picks, we are launching our own new product line with three PLKs as a start. Further products already in development. We will keep you up to date about PLK-picks on social media.
To serve the requirements of both acoustic and electric guitarists, the PLK-picks will initially be available in three gauges.
Sorted according to milestones in rock history, there should be the right PLK for every preference. Colour codes make the vintages instantly recognisable.
inspired by the folk rock of the 60s like Buffalo Springfield, the Byrds, Bob Dylan… The soft PLK is aimed – not only – at acoustic guitarists. With a thickness of .60 mm, it provides a light, sparkling sound.
Somewhere between the proto punk of the Stooges and MC5, Glam Rock and the British Punk Explosion, the .75 / hard PLK fits like a glove between the fingers. A good all-round guitar pick solution for all needs, the perfect balance between flexibility and precision.
The 90s. The guitar reclaims the charts with Grunge and Britpop. The most powerful PLK elicits a hard and crisp sound from every electric guitar and comes in the colour of Kurt Cobain’s favourite cardigan.
Plectrums are made of plastic, so are the PLKs. We use a very abrasion resistant nylon blend to ensure the durability of our picks. In the future we will experiment with other plastics to make our PLKs even harder or softer. We use recycled material to produce as environmentally friendly as possible in plastic.
We sell our Innovative guitar-picks directly from the producer.
